The castle of Csókakő sits at a height of 500 meters on the edge of Vértes Mountains. Recently, it has undergone a partial restoration and is open to the public. The castle offers a stunning view over the Mór Basin.

The castle was built after the Mongol Invasion to guard a route of strategic importance to Székesfehérvár. From mid-16th century the castle was in the hands of Turkish troops for nearly 150 years. Although archeologists have not found traces of it Turkish explorer Evliya Çelebi mentions a mosque here in his travelogue, and in addition, a drawing from the 16th century also displays it.
