Showcasing the best of contemporary Palestinian visual art
This innovative special focus art residency project is a multifaceted initiative aimed at hosting and documenting leading contemporary Palestinian visual artists in a shared creative space. It not only provides time and place for artistic production, but also captures the evolution of each artist’s work through film and exhibition—offering insight into their creative processes, materials, and the subtle transformations that occur in response to a new environment. The residency culminates in public presentations where the artworks are shared with diverse audiences, inviting cross-cultural dialogue.
Given the fragmented reality faced by many Palestinian artists—scattered across the diaspora, limited by logistical constraints, and rarely able to meet in person—this residency offers a rare and meaningful opportunity. By gathering in a neutral, peaceful setting for extended, uninterrupted creative exchange, the artists reconnect not only with each other but also with shared questions of identity, heritage, and expression. This encounter is profoundly significant—not just for the artists involved, but also for their audiences and for the broader discourse in contemporary visual arts. It allows for new relationships to form, both human and artistic, and for artworks to emerge that reflect not only personal and national narratives, but also the universal themes of displacement, belonging, and transformation.
